Galerie Maria Bernheim brings to artgeneve 2019 a group exhibition of Swiss, Austrian and American artists with mixed mediums, from painting to sculpture, within art and design. While conceptual artist Mitchell Anderson builds new narratives through a deep exploration of elements coming from pop culture, literature and history, Manuel Burgener - also currently subject of a solo show at the gallery space in Zurich - manipulates light reflecting on traditional imagery of sculpture. RICO WEBER - solo show

Rico Weber (1942-2004) is a Swiss artist who spent his whole life in the shadows, hunting for his ideal of creating what he called 3-D photography. By extracting fragments from ordinary life, he manages to give us an image of our personalities and characters. Using a technique he has developed, he created works such not unlike bas-reliefs, resin-cast copies of wall panels, televisions and windows. Recreated identically, they are barely distorted photocopies of our lives. This aesthetics of the banal that he has built, always hiding behind his mentors, Nikki de St Phalle and Tinguely, of whom he was the assistant his entire life, returns to us with phenomenal strength, full of esoteric and dreamlike symbols.
